Want to be the office ‘it girl’, every company needs one:

It’s finally October, so here are 5 workwear staples we think you need in your autumn wardrobe:

The mornings are getting darker and the days rainier. However, that doesn’t mean our outfits can’t get cuter. Autumn is for layering, darker colours and staple accessories so here are the top picks for your autumn work wardrobe.

Black suit pants

Whether you want wide leg, skinny, high waisted or paper bag a pair of black pants should 100% be in your wardrobe this autumn.

A timeless classic that goes with absolutely everything, a pair of black pants will make getting dressed in the morning so much easier. Pair them with a jumper, a shirt, in fact any top you wear for work, and I guarantee these will be the most worn item in your work wardrobe.

They’re comfy, practical and are the perfect base for any outfit in the ‘bar’ months.

Our favourite pair this season are these gorgeous pair from Pull and Bear, which are both affordable and classic.

Longchamp Le Pilage

An investment piece yes, but worth it, A Longchamp Le Pilage is the perfect work bag for the fall.

Though the bag is large enough to fit all your non-negotiables, it conveniently folds up in four steps. Longchamp say it is as “practical as a pocket book”.

What’s better, it also zips (a work bag essential). No more losing bits of work or keys.

Obviously we’ve got to keep that laptop safe and Le Pilage has you covered there too. The designer bag is made of nylon and Russian leather meaning it’s gorgeous and waterproof.

It’s both fashionable and practical – how many boxes does this bag need to tick before you add it to your basket?

We personally love the classic black or navy – but don’t be afraid to show your fun side, there is a baby pink for all you girlies out there.

Ballet Flats

Ballet flats are officially here to stay. After that popular rise last autumn due to GANNI’s gorgeous selection, ballet flats are here for another year.

Add a cute twist to your outfit for work by wearing a different type of shoe to the office. Velvet, sequins, strap, or no strap, black or burgundy most shops have a shoe for all.

One of our favourite picks comes from ASOS with this gorgeous satin pair.

Turtlenecks

A staple everyone needs in their autumn winter wardrobe. The main selling point? They keep us warm, exactly what we need in this British weather.

Turtlenecks can be dressed either up or down, think casual pants or a skirt and heels.

With turtle necks the possibilities are endless, we can wear them in any colour – especially this burgundy number which is the colour of this autumn. Don’t forget the option of thickness; jumper like, or slim fit – honestly all bases are covered.

If anything is to be a part of your work wardrobe this A/W it needs to be a staple turtleneck.

Trench coat

Would it be an A/W fashion article without talking about trench coats?

They have made such a resurgence these past few years and are here to stay for the foreseeable.

Not the most practical coat (cough cough British weather) – however they look stunning and make any outfit look 10 times better.

However, there are some waterproof options out there, which means you go to work looking chic and dry.

Now it will only be a matter of time before we need to get the puffers out, so we don’t get frostbite but before that happens a trench needs to be a part of your work wardrobe.

Our favourite waterproof tench is this khaki one from M&S.

Add these to your A/W work wardrobe, and you will be the office fashionista.

Because every office needs one.
