Gym Talk- What are we wearing?

Anything can be a catwalk, if you want it to be.

I have taken up running. Just on the treadmill in my local gym, as I haven’t braved running in the wild outdoors yet. But I have surprisingly come to enjoy it, not only because it makes me feel accomplished and good about myself, but it has allowed me to find my favourite thinking spot in the whole world.

The dreadful 30 minutes go by in what feels like seconds (that might be a slight exaggeration). Maybe it’s because I might be the most obvious people- watcher in the whole world, and yes maybe because I must think about literally anything to distract myself from the pain of running! So, during my thirty minutes today

“It really, really got me thinking…”

I have been going to the gym for just under two years now. I have phases where I couldn’t think of anything worse than going, and others when it’s my favorite place to be. And I have begun to realize that my biggest motivation for working out is what I wear when I choose to do it.

Now not only am I buying new outfits for special occasions, I also feel like I need a new one for every leg day! Brands are revelling in this discovery that it seems most of the girls on my For You Page are also experiencing. Alo, Dfyne, Bo+Tee, Lululemon and so many more brands are transforming the fashion world of sport. Each collection selling a variety of the cutest co-ords, to die for tops, luscious leggings, and a new one I’m obsessed with… socks! I need a pair of Adonola socks for each day!

It is essential to wear clothes during workouts that are comfortable, supportive and dynamic during movement. And let’s not forget a pair of leggings that aren’t completely see through, psst we shouldn’t be able to see your underwear!  As well as dressing practical, it is also essential to look and feel good as well. A matching set will give you the confidence and motivation to get every workout done you’ve ever dreaded.

Whilst the post New Year motivation may be slowly getting left behind, perhaps it’s time to justify buying the new workout sets you’ve had your eye on. I know I definitely will be (the lululemon hourglass jackets have my name written all over them!).

Let us know how you’re achieving a ‘stair master slay’ this week.
