It’s time to shop for Summer

I’m currently drinking possibly one of the strongest teas I have ever made, wrapped up in my cosiest fluffy pj’s, with fluffy socks that definitely don’t match, and all my candles are burning. It’s 9pm and I have just laid down after one of the busiest days at work. I’m about to turn over and allow my sleepy eyes the rest they rightly deserve, until that familiar theme tune begins to play, and every muscle in my body beams with excitement. It’s love island time.

“And it got me thinking…”

I have fully embraced everything that comes with the world of winter fashion. The coats, the scarves, the boots, the knit. I have done it all, and I have loved it all. But seeing all these glamorous women grace my screen in bikinis I definitely don’t have the summer body for, and dresses that scream a summer holiday, makes me want one thing- and one thing only.

Get me holiday clothes shopping. And it only felt right to take you guys along with me!

Extreme Sparkles

This summer I want to revive the nostalgia from the early 2000s. Almost like Hannah Montana in Greece edition. I want sparkles, I want bright colours, and I want them all mixed together. My Pinterest board is gleaming with greens, pinks and blues incorporated into skirts, shirts, tops and accessories- once I used to hate clashing colours, but now I feel as though it makes a summer outfit, well a summer outfit.

Backless Everything

If a backless dress has one million fans, I am one of them; if she has one fan it’s me; and if she has zero then I am dead. I needn’t say more. I am so obsessed with a tanned back + backless dress/ top combo, it illuminates a sense of style and sophistication, whilst serving sexiness all in one.

Over the Top Accessories

Over the past few years we have seen an uprise of accessorising, through classic jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets and rings. Unique jewellery has also been on the rise, items including hair clips, bobbles and grips, arms cuffs, anklets and earring layering. Not only does it add to an outfit, but it becomes the outfit. Transforming a completely basic look into an elevated chic one.

Style-ish Sandals

As our age grows older, our priority of comfort becomes more established. Therefore, I will so choose a pair of classic sandals on holiday, over a pair of uncomfortable heels, or wedges. Don’t get me wrong, I will definitely take my pictures in them first.

We have also seen this through celebrities and influencers transforming a casual ‘flip- flop look’ into something more fashionable than ever before.

Duh… Denim

If I was to vote for something that I have no doubt will never, ever, ever leave not just trending fashion, but also the core pieces within every wardrobe, it would be no doubt denim. She simply is and always has been the moment, and I need more of her in the summer months.

A staple pair of denim shorts is must for every trip to the beach, a denim crop top with the perfect fit is essential for a ‘sight seeing day’, and a mini denim skirt is needed to satisfy my Hannah Montana urge.

As the months go on I’m sure my list will grow along with my wardrobe- unfortunately not my bank account. So, I would love to know what’s on all of your Style-ish wish lists for this summer- I can’t promise I won’t copy you though!
