Merry Christmas ya Style-Ish animals

The windows are frosty, the fireplace is burning, presents are wrapped under the tree, and the sun is still waiting to rise. It’s the 25th of December- my favourite day EVER! Its finally Christmas again…

And it got me thinking…

2024 has got to have been the fastest one yet. Months have felt like weeks, and weeks have felt like days- and the days, gosh they’ve been just a minute. And December has been no different.

Whilst the month has been filled with festivities every other day, they have also been filled with the stress that leads up to this very moment.

Sitting around the tree watching my family open their presents with an anxious feeling in my tummy which hopes for everybody to love their gifts.

I don’t think that’s what this day was made for, right?

Christmas is a time to be grateful and thankful for everything and everyone around us. Don’t get me wrong, this should be done on the daily- for my affirmation girlies- but getting together with friends and family over December amplify this.

It’s more than the gifts, the wrapping paper, the decorations or the dinner- although I can’t wait for some pigs in blankets later. But it is just a time to sit back, look around you and revel in the moments of joy and love.

The film may be cheesy, but it certainly is true, love really is all around us. And I plan on noticing every detail through the day.

The smell of the Christmas crackers as they are pulled apart, the excitement over the wrapping paper as it is ripped into, the extra sparkle in the Christmas lights that are wrapped around the tree, the red lipstick I wear once a year, the over- exaggerated laughter from the terrible Christmas jokes and the utter feeling of content, as I’m sat watching Gavin and Stacey surrounded by a room full of the people I love dearest.

So, to the lovely readers of Style-ish I hope your day was filled with as much love and happiness as we wish for each one of you.

And have a very Merry Christmas- lots of love, Styel-ish xxx
